Day after day, in classes across the world, teachers bring knowledge to life.
World Teachers’ Day, held annually on 5 October since 1994, commemorates the anniversary of the signing in 1966 of the UNESCO/ILO Recommendation Concerning the Status of Teachers. It is an occasion to celebrate the essential role of teachers in providing quality education at all levels. In 1993, UNESCO (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization) inaugurated October 5 as World Teachers’ Day, a day to celebrate teachers and the central role they play in guiding children, youths & adults through the life-long learning process.
